I just downloaded and read it, short enough to read over a cup of coffee and definitely intriguing enough to keep you flipping through the pages till it ends.Has a good sense of originality, odd sense of humor, and an honest outlook into this working society most of us can relate to.

Professional Responsibility Robert Dart 9781481070959 Books Reviews
The action and intensity of a John Grisham novel, but with more interesting and very real feeling characters, in a backdrop of the disfunctional and often absurd atmosphere of high power law firms. A new lawyer struggles internally, but without awareness, to find himself and escape the attitudes of those in power around him, while doing some good in spite of himself. Can't wait to hear more from this author!
A friend of mine recommended this book, and I'm glad he did. I found it both engaging and thought-provoking. The writing style wasn't as breezy as I typically like, but Professional Responsibility features ideas and insights that stayed with me long after the read. Strong recommendation, especially at the price.
What makes this story so brilliant is the way in which it captures the nature of work. The repetition. The bleeding to together of days. The lengths we go to in order to not work while making it look like we are working, and why we are doing this in the first place. It's a story ostensibly about lawyers, but in truth its about anyone who has ever had to use Microsoft Outlook or has taken unnecessary trips down the hall to get more coffee.
"Professional Responsibility" is a lightening-fast read that is both relatable and illuminating. It's about being young, having to work within an established system, and trying to do the right thing.
Part of what makes this book so engrossing is the way it pulls the reader into a very particular time and place the life of a junior associate in a mammoth law firm, pre-Great Recession. Anyone who's been there will recognize it, and for anyone who hasn't been there, it's a fascinating peek inside (a peek into a fictional, much more entertaining version). The protagonist is convincingly written, and over the course of this fast-moving book struggles to deal with his job, office politics, and a seemingly dysfunctional sex/social life, when he quickly finds himself largely responsible for the fate of a vulnerable pro bono client. This is a page turner that raises serious questions and does not offer pat answers. Highly recommended.
Written in a stark, staccato style, and with a character whose emotional state reminded me of the main character in American Psycho (without the violence and misogyny) mixed with the normal kids I went to law school with and who are now disillusioned with their choice, Professional Responsibility is clearly written by someone whose been through the grind of the big law firm but managed to maintain a conscience and sense of perspective. The story is brisk and engaging, taking you inside the head of the main character (whose name, I'm pretty sure, we never learn). Spend a buck and check it out -- you won't regret it.
