Fractal Flames Desert Driftwood eBook John Pirillo
The pictures in this collection vary in complexity. Like the others in the artist/author's Fractal Flame series, they all are abstract. But unlike his other works these aren't very colorful. They aren't the kind of art that appeals to me usually. But there's something in them that drew me in, nonetheless. The lack of bright, pretty colors that I prefer has given these images an unexpected impact.
Some look like smoke, some like paint or oil stirred in water. There are a couple that remind me of soap bubbles encrusting a tub of rust-tinged water, or like something organic and alien growing on old paper. I found contemplation of them disturbing, and the way the convoluted lines shift and bend is haunting.
A work that stirs your feelings and makes you think is art, so these pass that test. They aren't something I'd like hanging on my wall, though! They probably affected me differently than they will you. Like Rorschach ink blots, they're subject to individual interpretation.
This is a great series!

Fractal Flames Desert Driftwood eBook John Pirillo Reviews
This isn't a sci fi novel if that is what you are wondering, it's a recopilation of around 100 digital works of abstract art with warm hues that remind you of the desertic landscape. The images are beatifully crafted and would make really nice wallpapers for your computer. A lot of digital artbooks are poorly formatted but I had zero difficulty reading this book on my smartphone. No lagging, no blotchy or low res images or other annoying problems such as crashing on you.
It's quite an enjoyable book for art lovers.
Always a way to relax.
What can I say beautiful and inspirational as always.
I have a few of John's fractal books and have enjoyed them immensely. In fact, in each book, there are several of the fractals I would like to have as computer wallpaper. But, I just wasn't grabbed by this book. I think the reason was the colors were just not as bright and varied as I like. I would give this book a 3-star rating.
Beautiful. The images in this book are absolutely spectacular. Everyone will enjoy this book. Some of the images are worth framing.
Unlimited, but for all this writer's newer fractals {the ones this year basically} is the ku, all are avaiable for purchase as well. Fractals are curve/geometric figure, and there are also flame fractals which are somewhat different type.

Desert Driftwood - Tones; muted; understated; images run the gamut from quiet to dramatic, boring to interesting, but not his best, with some repetitions. 20% is ads for his other books. 3*
Ebony Collection Volume Three - Variety of colors with black. Dramatic; fantasy; space; and more. My favorite book so far of his work. 12% is ads for his other books. 5*
The Fractal Flames series is not something you can just flip through quickly. I enjoy looking at these books when I need to take my mind of what's happening; taking a break from reading a book that I don't really care for; or just wanting to relax. Not every image is great or even good, but there are so many fabulous ones that grab your attention and you can get lost in them seeing things. Kinda like laying in the grass, watching the clouds drift by and imagining what this one or that one resembles. Mr. Pirillo should be pretty relaxed after he finishes a book. Many belong mounted on a wall; framed, size 2' x 3', or a continuous slideshow on a HDTV. Form your own opinions, don't take mine for granted.
